NEW COASTAL HIGHWAY           

A Coastal Highway of 350 miles is being built, and stretches from the USA Arizona border all the way down the State of Sonora up to Guaymas.

The last update on the construction of the coastal highway has reached to Puerto Libertad. 

The Coastal Highway will reach Bahia de Kino - Kino Bay approximately by 2010-2011

This highway will increase the number of tourists that visit Bahia de Kino - Kino Bay all year round, not only from the USA but also from Canada.

 

 


NAUTICAL LADDER 

A nautical ladder is being built and scheduled to complete by the year 2010-2011

 This will facilitate navigation from the Pacific Ocean going across the Baja peninsula and into the Sea of Cortez instead of going all the way around the peninsula.

 This picture shows the completed project, featuring many connecting points on the Pacific Ocean and into the Peninsula and the Sea of Cortes.  It will provide related services, a gasoline distribution system to all the ports,  It will have a total of 20 airports,  11 nautical centers, 24 connecting nautical stops, a ground bridge (shown on red) to provide ground transportation from the Pacific to the Sea of Cortes.

A TOTAL OF 29 MARINAS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE SEA OF CORTEZ

 Of the 29 marinas, 17 to be built. 12 are already completed and in process of renovation.

 Immediately adjacent to the area of consideration a wet marina will begin construction in September 2007 in an area called Playa Esthela.

 The marina in Playa Esthela will be surrounded by a condominium with at least 240 apartments, a club house, and other facilities. This is right outside the Kino Bay Estates and in front of the Dry Storage Marina.  All the spaces in this marina have been rented out way before braking grounds.

A MEGA PROJECT FOR BAHIA DE KINO - KINO BAY, HAS BEEN MADE OFFICIAL

January 31st, 2008, The Department of Tourism "FONATUR", announced a mega-project for Bahia de Kino - Kino Bay.

In an are of  209 hectares, it will include the followings:

  •  Brand new golf course.

  •  Several Condominiums lots.

  •  5 Hotel lots with  672 rooms.

  •  499 residential lots.

  •  977 Commercial lots.

This Mega Project will generate a potential capacity of 4, 164 rooms.

This project will create over 3,000 new direct jobs and over 12,000 indirect jobs.

This project is scheduled to begin in 2010.
